facts and figures of our work

SUCCESSES & Stumbles of our work

Just as social as sustainable

In 2023 we worked on 74 sustainable projects , 37 social projects and 21 projects that were both social and sustainable. We are convinced that a sustainable future is also an inclusive future, and vice versa. That is why we strive for a more balanced balance between sustainable and social projects.

Although we have completed wonderful inclusive projects in 2023, such as Code-V and Stek, we see that the balance is not yet ideal. In 2024 we will actively look for ways to improve this balance and thus make an even greater impact.

total

In 2022 we worked on 114 projects for various clients. We check all projects to see whether they have a sustainable or social goal in mind. Preferably both!

You can read how we assess this in our guidelines for change.

collaborations

The art of not doing it

We tirelessly adhere to our substantive and creative impact journey to a better world. We only join forces with like-minded people who are committed to a fair, sustainable, healthy world for everyone.

We test all new clients to see whether they share our mission. That is often quite difficult, because most companies come to us with good intentions. You can read how we test these companies in our 'Guidelines for Change'.

This year we have decided not to enter into a partnership with a major player in the dairy industry. In addition, we have terminated the long-term collaboration with an existing client due to investments in the fossil industry.

Code V

For the book (in)different we had the help of printing company SpringerOut enabled. They deliver fantastic printing work and distinguish themselves through their convincing social commitment.

AP Moller

AP Moller is a Danish investment company that invests in companies that have a positive impact on society. We designed the impact report together with the AP Moller team.

Publiqa

Many websites are not accessible to a large group of people. In addition to being a former schoolmate, Joost van der Steen is also the creator of the Publiqa platform. With Publiqa you can create your own online publications that are accessible to everyone. We called upon Joost's expertise for publication of the NPRES.

MN

For the Pardigm app we worked together with a Ukrainian computer vision specialist. The collaboration with Ievgen and his team was inspiring and very erratic due to the war his country is suffering from.

problems
(not yet) solved

Pieter Pot is not

Almost everything in the supermarket is wrapped in plastic. Not with Pieter Pot . That is why we replaced some of our groceries with Pieter Pot's packaging-free products in 2022. This reduced our plastic waste by approximately 10%.

Unfortunately, things didn't go well for Pieter Pot in 2023. The company went bankrupt. As a result, we were forced to do our shopping in a 'normal' supermarket again.

Fortunately, Pieter Pot made a new start in 2023 and we will be doing packaging-free shopping again.

Measuring is knowing

Quite a bit of waste is produced in our studio. We have set ourselves the goal of reducing our waste mountain . Plastic waste in particular is a thorn in our side. But how do you know if you are doing the right thing if you don't measure it? We have now started weighing our plastic and residual waste, so that we know whether we are doing the right thing.

Unfortunately, the Municipality of The Hague will stop collecting separated waste in 2023. For automatic sorting afterwards. Is this better or worse for our attitude towards waste?

Online CO2 puzzle

We already talked about it in our impact report last year; our website is polluting. And not just a little bit. With the help of digitalbeacon.co we discovered that our website is ranked as 'bad'. Time for action!

In 2023 we improved the website on a number of points. Our website scored poorly, mainly due to the use of (a lot of) images. We have overhauled the images, making the website faster and lighter.

But it's still not enough. Digital Beacon has changed the way of analyzing and reporting. This makes it difficult to compare our current score with that of last year. What is clear is that the website still scores poorly. We will work on this in 2024.
